Engagement memories will last a lifetime and unfortunately, so can the bills. The last thing newlyweds should have to worry about is paying off the steep cost of their engagement and wedding rings. Imitation diamonds, such as cubic zirconia eternity rings or moissanite eternity rings, allow couples to have the same beauty of a real diamond but at a much more reasonable price.
Since their introduction in the 1970s, cubic zirconia eternity rings have become a popular alternative to traditional diamonds. Although they have a similar aesthetic quality, diamond rings and cubic zirconia eternity rings hold different physical qualities. A cubic zirconia eternity ring is not as hard as a diamond; cz is rated 8.5 on the hardness scale as opposed to a diamond which is rated 10. However, cz eternity rings are still very resistant to scratches and other damage.
Also, cubic zirconia eternity rings weigh about 1.75 times more than a diamond ring, which is an insignificant difference for most consumers because the size of the each stone is typically cut small. Cubic zirconia eternity rings do not have the same level of dispersion as diamond rings, meaning they do no have as much sparkle. But a major advantage cz eternity rings possess over diamonds is they are created completely colorless. Normal diamonds are usually yellow or brown tinted and have other small, natural flaws, but cubic zirconia eternity rings are manufactured to be as perfect as possible. Furthermore, although not as hard or reflective as their diamond counterparts, cubic zirconia eternity rings are appealing because they are so affordable and easy to find. For example, the Classic Clear and Blue Cubic Zirconia Wedding Ring Set from zulumoon.com is only $41.49. Amazon.com also offers cubic zirconia eternity rings including gorgeous Sterling Silver/Platinum Cubic Zirconia Eternity Rings for only $99.99. Higher end cubic zirconia eternity rings cost several thousand dollars, but this is still less expensive than a diamond ring. Cubic zirconia eternity rings come in a wide variety of styles, colors and prices so couples should be able to find one that's right for them.
A relatively new type of jewelry not as well-known as cubic zirconia eternity rings but serves as excellent substitute to diamonds is the Moissanite ring. Due to their brilliance and shine, Moissanite rings seem even more like traditional diamond rings to the naked eye than cubic zirconia eternity rings. Moissanite eternity rings, which have stones set entirely around the wedding band, are particularly stunning. Also, because moissanite stones are made of silicon carbide, they are almost as hard as diamonds.
Since they were placed on the market in the lat 1990s, a moissanite ring's durability and reflective qualities have made them very alluring to soon-to-be brides and grooms. But their biggest attraction is their price. Moissanite rings cost an average of about only 1/10 the amount of diamond rings. Generally they cost more than cubic zirconia eternity rings but they make up this drawback with their sparkle. Depending on the size and maker, moissanite rings range from as little as several hundred dollars to several thousand, providing many choices for couples.
Newlyweds face many obstacles when starting their new lives together, but with a beautiful cubic zirconia eternity ring or moissanite eternity ring, at least they can have a peace of mind knowing that the symbol of their love will not be a financial burden.
